*Sigh**Suck*

In swedish newspaper SvD today there was another article from those (assorted media associations) who works for more control and enforcement of the internet. There are a lot of things to discuss in this article, everything from plain errors to very biased interpretation of the world we are living in. I will here discuss the most precious points:

” Does Annie Lööf, the minister for enterprise, think that Sweden’s creative sector should have the same conditions of competition as any other sectors, and as their colleagues around Europe? And what are you then prepared to do to create those conditions for a digital market without any illegal participants?”

The should be, what are you prepared to do? What have you done that last ten years, to offer any alternatives to illegal downloading?

“Does Lena Adelsohn-Liljeroth, minister of culture, that swedish creators of culture/media deserve to be treated as proffesional workers and that it should be possible to make their living by doing this in Sweden, also in the future?”

Exactly what are we talking about here? According to another article in DN (december 12:th 2009), have at least the musicans income between 2000 and 2008 increased with about 35%. The record companies have of course decreased their income from albums, who maybe aren’t as important for this as the artists themself?

So, is it harder to make your living working with those creative proffesions today, compared to 10 years ago? As long as we don’t know, we should definitly not create any new laws which limit the freedom of the internet.
