uLoops, music tool for AndroiduLoops, musikverktyg för Android

Just thought I should write some lines about uLoops, since I happened to do some minor parts of the development of this software. I stumbled over this app when I was trying out all possible software for composing I could find for the Android platform.  Thought that the swedish language here was not that good, probably mostly made with Google Translate, so I emailed the developers and offered my help.

Never thought there could be so much text strings in this kind of software. But now I’m done and my contribution might be added to the next update.

And the app as a composing tool? It’s obviously made for people who compose different kinds of music than rock/heavy metal. It doesn’t really matter, since it works perfectly well if you need to save some ideas you might get when you’re on the metro, on the beach or whatever.

But I’m still waiting for a equivalent to Garageband for Android. uLoops is closest so far, all funtionality is there, but it’s still kind of limited (e.g. the shortest part of a song is 4 bars) and you need a connection to the internet (all audio processing is done on a server).

Tänkte bara passa på att skriva lite om uLoops, eftersom jag råkade bli aningen involverad i utvecklingsarbetet. Laddade ner det under min självpåtagna uppgift att testa alla musikprogram för komposition som jag hittar till Android. Tyckte att det svenska språkstödet var sådär, mycket översättningar från Google Translate skulle jag tro, och erbjöd mig att hjälpa till.

Kunde aldrig tänka mig att det kunde finnas så mycket texter i ett såpass relativt litet program. Men nu är det i a f gjort, så vid nästa uppdatering är det kanske mina texter som är med! 🙂

Programmet i sig annars? Det är uppenbarligen gjort för folk som gör annan musik än rock/hårdrock. Det gör i och för sig inte så mycket, det går alldeles utmärkt att använda för att snabbt fånga upp idéer man har när man sitter på tunnelbanan, är på stranden o s v.

Men jag väntar fortfarande på en motsvarighet till Garageband på Android. uLoops är nära, all funktionalitet finns egentligen där. Det är dock fortfarande aning begränsat (kortaste delen av en låt är t ex 4 takter) och all ljudbearbetning sker online, varför man måste ha en datauppkoppling.
