Another days work…Ytterligare en dags jobb…

This weekend was planned for finally recording my guitar solos, so I can start mixing the songs. But, despite that I actually managed to make some decent takes for one solo yesterday, I’m still facing the same amount of work as 24 hours ago.

When I finished the first solo, I thought it might be a good idea to put the guitar away for a few hours and then start to work with some suggestions Andreas made about how to arrange the songs. Always good when someone listens to the songs with fresh ears.

So that’s what I did. And suddenly, a new part of the song appeared at the end of a chorus, where it might sound good with a guitar solo. So why not try? Picked up the guitar and started to jam along to that part.

A couple of hours passed by.

And the result? Yes, a guitar solo would fit in very good. Just to bad that I didn’t really managed to play anything I want to use.

To sum up, I have now managed to finish one solo, but at the same time made sure that I have to play another solo in the same song. And at the top of that, blisters have started to appear on the fingertips of my left hand. This will be an intresting day. Hade ju föresatt mig att spela klart mina gitarrsolon den här helgen, så att jag kan börja mixa inspelningarna. Trots att jag faktiskt lyckades sätta ett solo igår så är jag ändå kvar på samma nivå som igår morse.

När jag var klar med det första solot tänkte jag ta en liten paus från gitarren och börja pyssla med några mindre arrangerings-förslag som Andreas hade. Alltid bra med fräscha öron.

Sagt och gjort. Och helt plötsligt uppenbarade sig ett nytt parti i slutet av en refräng där det kanske hade passat bra med ett solo. Man måste ju prova. Plockade upp gitarren, pluggade in och började testa mig fram.

Sen satt jag väl där i några timmar…

Och resultatet? Jo, det kommer att bli jättebra med ett gitarr-solo på partiet ifråga. Synd bara att jag inte lyckades sätta någon tagning som jag vill använda.

Så sammanfattningsvis har jag hittills lyckats sätta ett solo, men samtidigt skapat utrymme för ett som jag inte lyckats sätta. Till det har jag börjat få blås-bildningar på vänsterhandens fingertoppar. Så det blir en intressant dag idag.
