Yesterday I told that Marcus will focus on a new band called Reach. They are about to release their first album, which I know they have been working on for a pretty long time. But the first thing we will hear from those guys is a somewhat unexpected cover, “Wake me up”, originally by the swedish house artist Avicii.
They have also made a video for this song, and the result is very good:

I guess there are several people out there who think it’s nothing less but disgusting to pollute the hardrock scene with house music. I can understand that a little bit, because I really don’t like house music myself đ
On the other hand, I suppose it’s a sign of it’s power that it can conjure those negative feelings among people like myself. I mean, that’s something all big music genres made when it was new…
And, in general, I think a good song is a good song. Which this is. Great intro, great verse, great riff, great chorus. It might be a little bit hard to hear this when the song is played in a completely different genre. But Reach made it easy to really hear the musical parts đ
IgĂ„r berĂ€ttade jag ju om att Marcus kommer att fokusera pĂ„ sitt nya band Reach. Dom lĂ€r ha en fullĂ€ngdare pĂ„ gĂ„ng, som jag vet att dom jobbat pĂ„ lĂ€nge. Men först ut var faktiskt en lite ovĂ€ntad cover, “Wake me up”, som ju ursprungligen Ă€r en lĂ„t av svenska house-stjĂ€rnan Avicii.
Dom har dessutom gjort en video till den och resultatet blev riktigt bra.

Jag kan tĂ€nka mig att det finns en del som tycker att det Ă€r rent bedrövligt att försöka göra hĂ„rdrock av house-musik. Det Ă€r lĂ€tt att förstĂ„. Egentligen tycker jag, av flera skĂ€l, att det Ă€r en ganska bedrövlig genre đ
Samtidigt Ă€r vĂ€l det nĂ„got som man fĂ„r ge dom, att lyckas vĂ€cka agg hos andra musik-intresserade brukar vara ett tecken pĂ„ att man har nĂ„got spĂ€nnande pĂ„ gĂ„ng. Det har vĂ€l de flesta genres hittills fĂ„tt erfara nĂ„gon gĂ„ng i historien…
SjĂ€lv tycker jag ocksĂ„ att en bra lĂ„t Ă€r en bra lĂ„t. Och detta Ă€r ju definitivt det. Bra intro, bra vers, bra riff, bra refrĂ€ng. Det kan vara lite svĂ„rt att höra nĂ€r lĂ„ten framförs i en produktion som man Ă€r ovan att lyssna pĂ„. Men Reach gör det ju lite lĂ€ttare att höra vad det Ă€r som faktiskt spelas đ
