Congratulations Sweden!Grattis Sverige!

Today, a description about how the EU data retention directive will be implemented in Sweden. This is, to use a slight understatement, something which should bother people all lot more than effective speed bumpers outside schools and kindergardens.

Computer Sweden have published an article with this info, but I will list it here as well. So, soon all of the following must be stored for 6 months by any ISP. Still haven’t read what the penalty will be for those who doesn’t store this as supposed. Really hope someone will do so…

Traditional phone calls

  • The number called
  • The number called and the number which it might have been re-directed to
  • Info about both the calling and the receiving subscriper, and where applicable, registred user
  • Date and traceable time about when the communication stopped and started
  • Info about which services that might have been used

Cellphone calls

  • Same info for traditional phone calls AND:
  • The callers and the receivers subscribing identity and identity of the equipment used
  • Info about where the caller and the reciever where located when the call started and ended
  • Date, traceable time and info about where the caller was located the first time before activating a pre-paid anonymous service

IP phone calls

  • Same info for traditional phone calls AND:
  • The callers and the receivers IP addresses
  • Date and traceable time for logging on/off the services which where used
  • Info which identifies the equipment used as interface between the ISP and the subscriber.

Meddelanden

  • Sender’s and receiver’s number, IP or other address
  • Data about the sending and receiving subscribers and where applicable registred use
  • Date and traceable time for logging on/off on the services used
  • Date and traceable time about when the message was sent and received
  • Info about the services used

Internet connections

  • The user’s IP address
  • Info about the subscribing where applicable registred user
  • Date and traceable time for when logging on/off to the service used for internet connection and the capacity for the communication
  • Info which identifies the equipment used as interface between the ISP and the subscriber.

Well, what to say? Almost to bizarr to understand nor summarize. There are so many things which are so wrong with this. And I really wonder how many of those who prepared this proposal and/or voted for it have the slightest idea what they where doing? You don’t have to that many conspiratorial tendencies to realize that this can be misused, to say the least…

And I am very curious about the meaning of “messages” and the info which should be saved there. From what you can read here, on hour with Facebook can cause thousends of stored information lines. The info that you logged on to Facebook, which ISP you are using, who’s responsible for the subscription of the internet connection, when you log on, which account you are using and the different services you might used when you are logged on.

Then, if you for example are using the Facebook chat service every single message written there will be stored with a time stamp, who you sent it to, and the time when the receiver read it. How can anyone think that this is a good idea?

Of course, Facebook as a company are probably alread storing a lot of this information. But then you can do the choice to not use Facebook, and use any other service to connect with people. But big brother demands to know EVERYTHING, no matter what services you are using. Which is almost anything you do on the internet.

Germany was the first country in Europe to apply those rules. This have led to that people don’t want to contact drug addictions clinics, marrige guiding councils and such things. Not really how it should be? And, the main idea with this law is to give the police better opportunities in their work. For sure, it have done so. 0.006% more crimes have been solved thanks to this law… This resultat could also have been achived by hire approximatly 1,5 fulltime working policemen. That might have been somewhat cheaper than the about 70 000 000 euro this have costed so far…Idag har vi fått en lite bättre beskrivning på vad datalagringsdirektivet går ut på.

Telefonsamtal i fasta nätet

  • Uppringande nummer

Ja, vad säger man?
