Now it’s decidedJag har beslutat mig

I have to learn how to drink red wine. This might sound like a strange statement from someone who is 32 years old, but that’s how it is. Let me explain.

Despite my age, there are a lot of typical grown up things I don’t like. Beer, wine, cigarrettes, coffee and such things (well, about cigarettes and coffee I don’t really know, since I never tried it). But there is one exception. Really dark chocolate. A couple of years ago I discovered that I was satisfied much quicker if I ate darker chocolate than the usual one. And that’s good, since it makes you eat less candy than you will do otherwise.

But as time passed by this escalated, I had to take darker and darker chocolate to get the same sense of satisfaction. Nowadays I almost only eat chocolate with 90% cocoa and think almost everything else tastes to sweet. And I’ve been worried about this, because now there are nothing more to escalate, except eating more. I don’t now if there are any darker chocolate out there? So the only thing to keep up with a very strict discipline and decide exactly how much chocolate I’m allowed to eat before I start.

Today when I ate some pieces of dark chocolate after dinner, I felt that it tasted so much better than ever before. First I thought that maybe chocolate could be garnered (as we do with cheese) and gain more taste from that. Never heard or read that this would be possible though. And anyhow, I guess more time have to pass since the two weeks that passed by since I bought this certain chocolate.

Then I realised how it must be. I had hamburgers, potatoes and red wine sauce for dinner. I’ve heard about how a certain wine can increase the taste experience noticeable, and actually felt somewhat sorry about that. Because I don’t like wine I would never experience this. But this is how it must be? That the chocolate taste much more and much better than before, because of the red wine sauce?

I guess this is a bit like that fact that I probably don’t want to try a Ferrari. There might be no way to go back after that.
