A little bit now and then, one might stumble upon pretty good business cases. You are doing something and suddenly you get an idea about something that would really make things more easy. And such ideas are usually useful for a lot of other people as well.

But to develop, test and produce is complicated and time consuming, even for simple products. So right now I will just tell about some of my ideas and hope that someone else will start to invent them. If this person later will give me a bonus for her/his succesful business, I will of course accept that.

So, idea #1. And it is, just as the header says, a combination of a keyboard and extended battery case for cell phones. After spending the last 45 minutes trying to search for similar products, I have come to the conclusion that such products doesn’t exist. At least not for the most common models, such as Samsung Galaxy S3, S3, S4, LG Nexus 4 or Apple’s iPhone 4 and 5.

For some of those there might exists products which offers one of those things, but so far no combinations. And if you have to bring to many accessories, the idea of a very mobile unit kind of fade away.

And, if you think you should start to develop this product, there is one that you could copy more or less, but make it smaller. Acer have tablet/netbook computer called w510, and the keyboard dock that are included there are more or less everything you could ask for:

Just as it is supposed to be. The construction is simple and genious. It will protect the screen when it’s closed. And you can rotate the the screen 270 degrees, very useful if you want to watch a movie on the phone while you are eating (as I often do).

The only thing that have to be made different is of course the attachment, because the USB contact on the phone is located at the bottom. But for someone who is skilled enough to do a product like this, I am sure s/he will come up with a good way to solve this. There are actually similar solutions, like the game pad that can be used with the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Additional features could be to add a reader for memory cards and full size USB contacts on the keyboard/battery dock.

I think that was all. I have more ideas, but will tell about them another day.

Extended battery Galaxy S3

Då och då i vardagen, eller annars med för den delen, kommer man ju ibland på smarta affärsidéer. Man gör någonting och kommer på att det skulle kunna gå att skapa en produkt som skulle förenkla för en. Och som förmodligen skulle uppskattas av ganska många andra också.

Men att utvecklas, testa och börja serie-producera även ganska enkla prylar är ju ganska omfattande. Så än så länge nöjer jag mig med att skriva av mig här och hoppas att någon annan tar tag i dessa så att man i alla fall får nytta av funktionen. Vill denna någon dessutom ge mig en liten eller stor bonus som tack för idén till hens framgång på marknaden tänker jag såklart inte protestera.

Så första tipset/idén kommer här. Och det är, precis som rubriken säger, en kombinerad tangentbord/batteri-docka/fodral för mobiltelefoner. Har ägnat de senaste 45 minuterna åt att googla runt och det finns helt enkelt inte för någon av de vanligaste modellerna, som t ex Samsung Galaxy S2, S3, S4, LG Nexus 4 eller Apples iPhone 4 och 5.

För vissa modeller finns fodral med antingen det ena eller det andra, d v s antingen keyboard eller batteri. Men vem vill gå omkring med ett helt litet tillbehörs-sortiment? Då försvinner ju liksom själva vitsen med en mobiltelefon.

Om någon nu känner sig sugen på att börja utveckla det här finns det en riktigt bra produkt att kopiera. Acers hybriddator w510 har nämligen en tangentbordsdocka som till form och funktion stämmer i det närmaste perfekt med det jag söker.

Galant helt enkelt. Som dockan är utformad skyddar den t ex skärmen när allt är ihopfällt. Och att går att vrida skärmen 270 grader är inte så tokigt om man t ex vill sitta och titta på en film medan man sitter och äter någonstans (som jag gärna gör).

Det enda som behöver anpassas till telefoner är såklart (förutom storleken) själva infästningen till telefonen. USB/ladd-uttaget sitter ju oftast på telefonens undre kortsida. Men för industri-designer borde det väl knappast vara något problem, det finns ju redan lösningar som t ex den för en game pad som säljs till Samsung Galaxy S4.

Bonus-features skulle kunna vara att det här keyboard/batteri-fodralet har lite andra smartheter, som t ex minneskortläsare och fullstora USB-uttag.

Det var nog det hela. Har fler idéer på lager, men tar dom lite allt eftersom.
