Japp, så inledde Kaj Roth på bloggen Roth’n’Roll sin recension av Edge of the silverthorn. Det är väl ganska rätt på om man ser till vilka våra huvudsakliga favoritband är. Även om speciellt Marcus kanske gärna också hade sett förkortningen “AOR” nämnas också 🙂

Fast jag antar att det på något sätt är ganska mycket samma sak som “70’s hard rock”? Om man nu gillar att dela in musik i genres. Är själv lite kluven till det. Det kan ju lika ofta vara ledande som missledande.

Nåväl, snart helg nu. Har planerat att ta tag i promotion-biten på allvar. Förhoppningvis kommer det ju leda till att vi får ännu fler sådana här trevliga recensioner att läsa. Faktiskt har alla vara trevliga hittills, även den enda där recensenten verkade ge sig den på att skriva ner oss. Det var i samband med första EP:n Light scares:

Läser man hela recensionen framgår det med önskvärd tydlighet att recensenten verkligen inte gillade skivan. Och för att verkligen visa hur dålig musiken var plockade han då fram “skräckexemplena” Asia och Styx. Föga anade han hur glada vi blev av att bli jämförda med sådana storheter 🙂

Yes, that’s how Kaj Roth started his review on the blog about Edge of the silverthorn. Really spot on, if you consider our main and most common favorite artists. Even though I guess that especially Marcus would like to see “AOR” among those genres… 🙂

But it might also be that it’s included in “70’s hard rock”? At least if you like to talk about music in terms of genres. I don’t really know what I think. Just as it can give you a hint about what music you are talking about, it can also give the completely wrong associations.

Anyway, the weekend approaches. My plans are to do a lot of work with the promotion. Hopefully it might give us more of those nice reviews to read. Actually, all reviews have been nice so far, even when the reviewer put so effort in criticize us. If you read the whole review, it’s perfectly clear that the reviewer didn’t like the music at all. And to show just how bad it really was, he compared us with the worst bands he could think of. Which happened to be another two of our favorite bands, thank you! 🙂
