En av mina dagliga sysslor här i livet är att sitta och googla på mig själv. Eller snarare The Rockford Heroes. Nu är det extra spännande, under helgen har vi skickat ut över 150 promo-pack till diverse tidningar. Kanske lite optimistiskt att hoppas på att det dyker upp några recensioner redan idag, senare denna vecka eller ens nästa vecka. Eller överhuvudtaget. Alla som recenserar musik nuförtiden drunknar säkert i material att recensera.

Det mesta är såklart alldeles säkert inte lika bra som det vi gör (eller hur?). Men handen på hjärtat, det finns säkert många band är mycket duktigare än oss på att utforma sitt promo-material så att det blir lite extra tilltalande.

Det som är lite lustigt när man sitter och googlar på t ex “The Rockford Heroes – Edge of the silverthorn” är den otroliga mängd sidor som erbjuder gratis nedladdning som dyker upp. Alltså, det har vi såklart ingenting emot. Snarare så uppmuntrar vi ju folk att ladda ner och sprida materialet. Men ändå. För den som vill är det ju bara att ladda ner låtarna direkt här på hemsidan, via Soundcloud eller The Pirate Bay.One of my daily tasks is to google myself. Or, rather The Rockford Heroes. Now it’s a little bit extra exciting, since we sent out around 150 promo packages to magazines and ezines this weekend. It’s probably kind of optimistic to hope that there would be any reviews today, laters this week or even next week. Or at all. Anyone who reviews music today are probably drowning in a sea of album submissions.

Most of it aren’t probably as good as ours of course (…). But honestly, there are certainly other bands out there who are much better than us in designing there promo material.

Anyway, what I found somewhat intresting when you google e.g. “The Rockford Heroes – Edge of the silverthorn” is the huge amount of different sites which offers their visitors to download the album for free. It’s that we have anything against that. It’s rather the opposite, we encourage people to download and share the music as much as they want to. But still.
