Varför dessa vilseledande rubriker? Why those missleading headlines?

Men.

Missleading headlines in our news papers aren’t exactly anything new. Most times it’s an easy way to assure them maximum clicks for each story, which give them for income from ads. And as long as it is about things that doesn’t really matters, celebrities who have done this or that, well, that’s how it is.

But when it comes to really serious subjects it’s really something to consider. And I really think we could expect that people who write the headlines should think different in those cases.

Right now I’m thinking of the research report from norweigan Cicera which where published recently, about humans impact on the global warming. According to this report this warming doesn’t happen as fast some previous reports have showed.

But.

Even though the swedish scientist who do some expert commenting on this for the news papers say things like:

“Even with this lower temperature rise it’s 100% necessary to work to prevent this, especially when it comes to emissions, where nothing happens today”.

as well as telling that this report has to be confirmed by other reports, the big news papers in Sweden choose headlines which hints that there are no problems.

SVD: Humans impact on the environment is less than we thought earlier

DN: New discoveries lowers the climate hazard

Of course, if you really read the whole stories you might notice what I just said. But judging by the comments on the articales, people don’t. On the opposite, this convinces those who doesn’t have the energy to do something or make any sacrifices relaxed and convinced that everything is ok. I refer to a previous post I wrote.
